Pricing

0% selling fees, buyer service fee, and Paid Subscription economics.

Last revised: July 22, 2026

2manybooks is free to browse, catalog, and organize a personal library. Marketplace selling has 0% selling fees — sellers keep 100% of their asking price. Buyers pay a small service fee on top at checkout (Depop-style). Optional Paid Subscriptions let collectors earn from subscribers who value their taste.

Amounts below describe current product logic. Payment-processor fees, shipping, taxes, and plan details can change and will be shown in checkout or account settings when they apply.

1. Free collector tools

Creating an account, adding books, managing copies, building shelves, following collectors, and using discovery tools do not require a paid subscription.

Free Follow on collector profiles and free Subscribe on authors, publishers, and subjects stay free and never unlock Paid Subscription library content.

Included without a subscription

  • Personal library cataloging and copy notes.
  • Search, browse, and public profile features that are enabled for your account.
  • Dashboard insights based on your collection data.
  • Help Center and Documentation access.

2. Paid Subscriptions

Creators can turn on Paid Subscriptions so subscribers who value their taste unlock the full shelf behind a preview of the latest books (default 10).

v1 pricing is a single $5/month recurring Stripe Billing subscription. On each payment, 2manybooks keeps a $1 platform fee (20% of the $5 price). The creator receives the remainder after Stripe’s payment-processor fees.

Access follows Stripe Subscription status (active, trialing, or canceled/past_due only through the paid period end). Cancel anytime via the Stripe Billing Customer Portal.

Example: one $5/month Paid Subscription

  • Subscriber pays: $5.00.
  • Platform fee at 20%: $1.00 (to 2manybooks).
  • Stripe processing fee: varies by card and country (a common US card rate is about 2.9% + $0.30 ≈ $0.45).
  • Creator receives: about $3.55 after the platform fee and a typical processing fee.
  • Payouts go to the creator’s Stripe Connect account on Stripe’s payout schedule.

3. Marketplace fees (0% selling fee)

Selling on 2manybooks has a 0% selling fee. Sellers keep 100% of their asking price (item amount). We do not take a cut out of the seller’s listing price.

Buyers pay a service fee on top of the item price at checkout — the same model as Depop. The current buyer service fee is 5% of the item price. Quoted shipping is separate and may be adjusted at ship time.

Payment-processor fees still apply under Stripe’s rules. Any affiliate fee recorded on an order is handled separately from the buyer service fee.

Example: $100 listing

  • Listing / asking price: $100.00 (seller keeps $100.00).
  • Buyer service fee at 5%: $5.00 (paid by the buyer to 2manybooks).
  • Quoted shipping: whatever the seller quoted (paid by the buyer; settled to the seller with postage adjustments).
  • Buyer pays at checkout: $100.00 + shipping + $5.00 service fee.
  • Seller payout: $100.00 + net shipping (minus any affiliate fee if one applies).

4. What fees do not cover

Platform and buyer service fees are separate from shipping labels, packaging, insurance, payment-network fees, currency conversion, chargebacks, and taxes. Those costs are determined by carriers, processors, tax rules, and the parties to the sale or subscription. 2manybooks does not currently collect or remit marketplace sales tax or issue Form 1099s; sellers remain responsible for their own tax obligations unless we notify otherwise.

Buyers should review the full amount due at checkout. Sellers and creators should confirm payout timing and connected-account requirements during setup.

5. Listing and verification requirements

Selling through verified flows requires seller verification and accurate listing details. Listings need a valid asking price, binding or format, and a condition note so buyers know what they are purchasing.

Paid Subscriptions can be enabled by any creator who completes payout onboarding; marketplace selling still requires shop/seller verification where applicable.

Completing verification does not guarantee sales, subscriptions, payouts, or approval of every listing. Fraud, prohibited items, or policy violations can still lead to removal or account action.

6. Estimates versus sale prices

Catalog estimates on book pages and the dashboard are informational market signals. They are not asking prices, appraisals, or insurance values.

Sellers set their own listing prices. Buyers pay the agreed listing amount plus the buyer service fee and any checkout charges displayed for that order.

7. Changes and questions

Fee percentages, eligibility, and paid plans may change. Material changes will be reflected here and, where required, in product notices or the Terms of Service.
